The fourteenth anniversary of the State of Israel will launch intensive Spring phase of the Israel bond drive in communities throughout the United States and Canada, it was announced today by Dr. Joseph J.Schwartz, vice-president of the Israel Bond Organization.
More than 300 campaign meetings honoring Israel’s anniversary are scheduled for the months of May and June to stimulate wide response to the Israel bond drive for 1962, which is seeking to raise a minimum of $66, 500, 000 for the development of the country’s economy.
The anniversary celebrations, Dr. Schwartz pointed out, will mark the formal opening of Israel’s “Decade of the Negev,” during which the vast desert area must be developed with the aid of Israel bonds as a center of industrialization and immigrant settlement.
