The Cabinet today approved a recommendation of a Ministerial committee to permit scout movement activities in state schools.

A year ago when the Government banned all youth movement activities inside schools there were representations from parents associations, the press and influential groups who cited non-political aspects of scouts.

The ban on youth movement activities in the state schools will remain in force for political youth groups like the rightist Betar movement, the religious B’nai Akiva, the leftist Hashomar Hatzair, and others.
