Formal launching of a college of arts and sciences in Israel under the auspices of the Mizrachi Organization of America was announced here tonight at a dinner meeting of educators and prominent laymen, who constitute the institution’s Founders’ Committee. The meeting was held at the Hotel Commodore.
In announcing the Mizrachi movement’s projected program for the college, Dr. Pinkos Churgin, national Mizrachi president, told the Founders’ Committee that the work on the central building will begin at the and of this year. The central structure, he said, will cost an estimated $1,500,000. Dr. Churgin disclosed that American architects are already preparing plans for the college which will be located on 150 dunams of land (about 40 acres) at Ramat Gan, a suburb of Tel Aviv.
