“Israel Day” will be celebrated in Central Park on Sunday, with activities ranging from the sale and consumption of “felafel,” the Israel version of the hot dog, to the excavation of an archaeological mound “salted” with pottery fragments as much as 4.000 years old. The program is jointly sponsored by the New York City Parks Department, the Israeli Consulate and the Israel Government Tourist Office.
