Israel denounced a Belgian Supreme Court ruling that left open the possibility for trying Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for alleged war crimes once he steps down. In a letter to Belgium’s King Albert II on Thursday, Israeli President Moshe Katsav rejected Belgium’s moral right to bring Israeli leaders or army officers to trial.
