The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced today that basic research on cotton will be done for the department by an Israeli research unit. A grant to the Israeli Ministry of Commerce and Industry will finance a five-year study of the relationship of crimp to other fiber characteristics and its effect on cotton processing performance and product quality. Research will be done in Israel at the Ministry’s institute for fibers and forest products research.
