Israel has been invited to participate in the concurrent meeting of the 17th International Geographic Congress and International Geographic Union, which will convene on August 8 in Washington, it was announced here today. The purpose of the union is to encourage the free exchange of ideas among geographers of all countries, and to initiate researches requiring international cooperation.
