Israel is allowing widows who want to conceive to harvest sperm from their dead husbands. Thursday’s ruling by Attorney General Elyakim Rubinstein also applies to common-law wives. It is intended to spare women time-consuming court battles for their late husbands’ sperm in light of the fact that harvesting can only take place within 36 hours of the man’s death.
