Israel is collecting data on Jewish refugees from Arab countries, in part to use as political leverage in future negotiations with the Palestinians. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab countries exceeds that of Arab refugees from Israel — who have been “exploited by their brethren” — said Israeli Justice Minister Meir Sheetrit, who is launching the initiative.
