Israel is concerned about the recent rise in anti-Semitism in Russia and the deepening ties between Russia and Iran, visiting Israeli Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon told his Russian hosts. During a three-day visit to Moscow, Sharon praised the Russian government’s attitude toward its Jews, but urged Russian Jews to immigrate to Israel. Sharon’s counterpart, Igor Ivanov, said he hoped Israel’s concerns would not mar relations between the two countries.
