Israel killed three people in a retaliatory airstrike in Gaza a day after two suicide bombers killed at least 15 Israelis. A Hamas official, Mahmoud Zahar, who was the target of Wednesday’s strike, escaped with light injuries. But his son, another family member and a bodyguard were killed, and his wife and daughter were injured. Hamas praised Tuesday’s attacks.
