Israel Medres, a noted Yiddish journalist and author, died here yesterday of a heart ailment at the age of 70. He was a member of the editorial staff of the Canadian Jewish Eagle. Born in Russia, Mr. Medres came to Canada in 1922 when he joined the staff of the Eagle. He was the author of a book, "Montreal of Yesterday," published in 1947.
