Discussing Israel’s health situation, he reported that the tuberuosis rate is 3.6 per 100,000, one of the lowest rates in the world. He also disclosed that Israel has brought under control a special health problem created by the vast influx of immigrants–that of diseases previously unknown in the area, such as trachoma and ringworm–and that malaria has been virtually eradicated.
