The Israel Parliament paid tribute today to the memory of Prof. Albert Einstein by a two-minute period of silence and a five-minute recess which were preceded by a eulogy delivered by Joseph Sprinzak, Speaker of the Knesset.
The Israel Cabinet met yesterday to discuss demands from top government officials and jurists for a salary increase. The jurists’ committee was scheduled to meet today to consider the possibility of a strike if the government refuses the salary bikes.
