Israel President is 70; Leaves Jerusalem to Avoid Celebrations

President Itzhak Ben Zvi went on leave to an undisclosed place today to avoid elaborate public celebrations of his 70th birthday.

Nonetheless, the Israel press and radio have carried long articles summing up Mr. Ben Zvi’s work in the scholarly and political fields. The Jewish Agency paid formal tribute to President Ben Zvi and messages have arrived at the President’s residence from persons and organizations in all parts of the world.
