President Itzhak Ben Zvi expressed the hope tonight that the year 1957 “may see further strengthening of bonds of friendship between nations and between all sections of our population.” His hope was contained in a New Year statement he issued to the heads of the Christian communities in Israel on the eve of their New Year celebrations.
