Israel reaffirmed that it would hold talks with Lebanon and Syria if the negotiations take place without preconditions. The comment came from a Foreign Ministry spokesman one day after Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri told President Clinton during a meeting in Washington that a peace agreement with Israel could be negotiated in three months if Israel resumes negotiations where they left off with Syria in March 1996.
