Israel Supreme Court Hears Appeal of Scientist Sentenced for Espionage

Hearings on an appeal by Kurt Sitte, former professor and head of the physics department at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, who was sentenced to five years imprisonment for espionage activities on behalf of a foreign country, were opened before the Supreme Court yesterday. The hearings, expected to last three days, are being conducted in camera.
