Israel will go forward with the peace process even without U.S. encouragement, President Clinton told reporters Thursday while traveling in Europe. “I expect there to be a revival of the peace process generated by the parties themselves,” Clinton said during a news conference in Paris with French President Jacques Chirac. Alluding to the newly elected government in Israel, he added, “I don’t believe that I will have to take any steps to revive the peace process.”
