Israel won a gold medal and a special citation today for its pavilion at the second international exposition in Guatemala.
The medal was handed by President Ydigoras to Joshua Shai, the Israel Ambassador, Some 500,000 persons visited the Israel stand which was also visited by officials of major Guatemalan firms and directors of the Chamber of Commerce. The business visitors, expressing admiration for the examples of Israel industrial ability, expressed belief that this would lead to greater trade between the two countries.
