Dr. Arieh Kubovi, Israel Minister to Argentina, Uruguay and Chile, will head the Israel delegation at the annual meeting of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization which opens here tomorrow. Deputy delegation head will be Dr. Mordecai Avida, secretary of the Israel legation in Buenos Aires.
The World Jewish Congress delegation attending the UNESCO sessions in an observer status will oppose any attempt by Rumania to become a member of UNESCO, it was revealed here today by Dr. Aharon Steinberg, head of the Congress delegation. He disclosed that Prof. Salo Baron of Columbia University will supervise the Jewish history section of a projected UNESCO project for the writing of the history of the world. Dr. Moises Goldmann, president of the DAIA, central representative organization of Argentine Jewry, will serve as a member of the WJC group.
