The Israeli Air Force celebrated its first anniversary today. A message from Chief of Staff Yaakov Dori congratulating the air arm of the Jewish state declared that the role played by the Israeli Air Force in weakening the enemy’s air power, especially in the Negev, will always be remembered as an “example of efficiency, daring and courage.”
Dori’s massage was addressed to all fighter pilots, bomber crews and air transport and ground personnel and hailed the recent serial victories in the Negev. “Let us go up,” the Chief of Staff’s message read, “for we shall surely succeed.”
An Air Force rally was held last night in Tel Aviv, while the government radio broadcast a special program dedicated to the Jewish state’s air force units. Brief ceremonies were also held in all Air Force installations.
