Israeli, American and Turkish vessels participated in a naval exercise in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai called on other regional states, including Syria, to join Israel in future exercises. Iran, Egypt and other Arab and Muslim countries have criticized the exercises.
