The organization of a “Composer’s Committee for Israel and American-Jewish Music” was announced here today by Prof. A.W. Binder, who just returned from a seven-week stay in Israel. The committee will function under the auspices of the American Fund for Israel Institutions and will arrange for the exchange of music between the two Jewish communities.
Prof. Binder, who is Professor of Liturgical Music at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and who was a guest lecturer at the Hebrew University during his visit, praised the development of music in the Jewish State and lauded the intense interest of the people in it.
