The annual conference of Israeli authors and writers here today called upon the Soviet Union to release all arrested Jewish writers and to permit the emigration of Israel-bound Jews.
During the debate that preceded the vote on the resolution, the motion was attacked sharply by the Mapam. When the majority adopted the resolution, Moshe Shamir, a Mapam-affiliated writer, walked out of the conference. Earlier, the parley was addressed by Prof. Benzion Dinaberg, Minister of Education and Culture.
