Israeli Education Minister Yossi Sarid has rejected suggestions his dispute with the fervently Orthodox Shas party could cost Prime Minister Ehud Barak political backing from Shas on key peace moves. Shas last week backed a preliminary reading of an opposition motion on a future referendum on the Golan Heights, but denied it was linked to its dispute with Sarid.
