Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami abruptly cut short a visit to Paris to return home. Israel Radio said “dramatic developments in the peace process” had forced Ben-Ami to cancel his meetings, which included talks with French President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin.
