The government of Israel has applied for membership in the World Health Organization. Its application will be subject to ratification by the W.H.O. assembly which meets in June. This information was disclosed by W.H.O. director-general Dr. Brook Chisholm at a press conference here today. Dr. Chisholm stated that the Arab states which are already members of the organization apparently welcome the Israeli application.
