A two-day warning strike of high school teachers throughout the country kept 30,000 students home today with the possibility of an extended walk-out next week if the teacher’s salary demands are not met.

The Ministry of Education has not recognized the High School Teachers Association since it broke away from the General Teachers Federation. The Government refuses to discuss the salary demands since any increase in high school teachers’ salaries would automatically call for a raise in the salaries of grade school teachers.
