An Israeli soldier was wounded this morning in an exchange of fire with Jordanians near the Me-Ami settlement in central Israel. The settlement is near the Ul Elfahem village, where a Jordanian espionage ring was uncovered last week.

At the same time, an unexploded mine identified as one of a type used by the Syrian army was found near the Maayan Baruch settlement, in upper Galilee. Officials said it appeared that the mine was placed there some time ago.
