Israeli military operations in the West Bank sparked Islamic protests around the world. In Cairo on Monday, police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse demonstrators headed toward the Israeli Embassy. In Jordan, security forces used batons to push back protesters. Other protests were reported as far away from the Middle East as Beijing and Dhaka, Bangladesh. Monday’s protests were held for a fourth straight day after Israeli forces seized Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat’s Ramallah headquarters last Friday.
