Elie Wiesel, United States correspondent for the Israeli evening newspaper Yediot Achronoth, today was awarded a coveted literary prize, the Prix Rivarol, for four novels. While the monetary value of the prize is only $200, the award is considered of high merit by literary circles in France.
Mr. Wiesel, who makes his headquarters at the United Nations in New York, wrote his novels in French, and all were published here prior to issuance of English translations in the United States. He also writes in Hebrew, Yiddish and English.
