A Boeing 707 jet with 135 passengers was landed safely by its Israeli pilot at John F. Kennedy International Airport today despite two damaged landing tires. The pilot was Capt. Oded Abarbanell of El Al, who was hijacked to Algeria on June 23, 1968, in the same plane. Emerging from the plane today just after noon, he said calmly: “I was not really too concerned.” Compared with his 40-day detention in Algeria, he said, “This was not even an incident.”
