Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat the “head of a terrorist gang” and said the fragile U.S.-brokered cease-fire is not working. “It’s not enough that Arafat lower the flames of violence temporarily,” he said at a dinner in New York hosted by the America-Israel Friendship League.
