Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is slated to visit Russia next week to discuss Israeli- Palestinian violence with top Russian leaders, according to Nathan Meron, Israel’s ambassador to Russia. The Sept. 3-6 visit comes as Moscow tries to play a bigger role in efforts to resolve the Middle East crisis.
