Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon reportedly refused to hold this week’s Mideast summit in Egypt because of Egypt’s refusal to release an Israeli Druse who has been jailed in Egypt for seven years on espionage charges. Meanwhile, the family of the prisoner, Azzam Azzam, launched a hunger strike Sunday outside the prime minister’s residence in Jerusalem.
