Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said he accepts the basic principles presented in a U.S. peace plan, but not a total settlement freeze. Speaking Monday before the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Sharon said an exception needed to be made for natural settlement growth, Israel Radio reported.
