Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon survived two no-confidence votes in the Knesset. On a motion lodged Monday by left-wing and Arab parties against a security fence being built around the West Bank settlement of Ariel, 55 lawmakers voted for the government and 28 abstained, leaving just 15 in favor.
