Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak convened his Cabinet to discuss whether to keep Israeli troops in Lebanon. Cabinet member Haim Ramon told Reuters before the session, “I hope that the outcome of this meeting will be” that Israel “will not remain in Lebanon later than July.” As the session took place, Hezbollah bombarded Israeli outposts in southern Lebanon.
