Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak phoned Russian President Vladimir Putin over the weekend to thank Moscow for rescuing a 12-year-old Israeli boy kidnapped by a Chechen gang last August. At the same time, however, Israeli Defense Ministry officials charged that a Russian anti-terror squad had known since December where Adi Sharon was being held. Sharon, who had parts of two fingers cut off during his captivity, returned to Israel on Sunday.
