Israeli researchers have designed a computer program that can determine the gender of the author of a book or article. The program, developed by a team at Bar-Ilan University, uses linguistic cues in the writing of a book or article to discern the writer’s gender.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
