Israel will celebrate Simhath Torah (rejoicing in the Torah) on Thursday with the traditional parades and dancing with Torah scrolls. A public celebration, in which President Shazar will join, will be held in the Old City near the Tower of David. President Shazar held open house yesterday and greeted more than 10,000 callers from all over the country who visited him in celebration of Sukkoth.
