Israel still has much to do to make conditions more normal and stable and to keep itself always ready to receive new immigrants, Eliahu Elath, Israel Ambassador to Britain, told the 11th Israel Independence Day Dinner of the Mizrachi-Hapoel Hamizrachi Federation last night.

He credited a large part of Israel’s progress to the continuous support of the Jewish communities of the free world, which, he said, understand that nothing could be more disastrous than the idea that Israel has reached the stage where the help of outside Jewry was no longer needed.
