Israel’s chief Ashkenazi rabbi was among a group of religious leaders criticizing an organization that said over the weekend it was behind the birth of a cloned baby. Yisrael Meir Lau said Judaism favors technological developments and medical progress that can help save a life or solve infertility problems, but it rejects the artificial creation of life.
