Israel’s fertility rate fell by 4 percent last year, largely due to a decline in the country’s Muslim community. The number of children an Israeli woman is expected to bear fell to 2.84 in 2005 from 2.95 in 2003, Globes reported, citing Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics.
