Israel’s finance minister is considering quitting. As the battle intensifies to pass the national budget by Dec. 31, sources close to Silvan Shalom cited a “total lack of backing from the Prime Minister’s Office.” Several ministers have threatened to quit if their ministries or constituencies are hit by planned budget cuts.
