Israel’s Foreign Minister Satisfied with Rangoon Parley

Israel regards the recently concluded Rangoon conference of Asiatic Socialist Parties as an important step toward its organic integration with the Asiatic nations under the flag of democratic Socialism, Moshe Sharett, who headed the Mapai delegation to the parley in Burma, declared here today upon his return.

Israelis Foreign Minister reported that friendly relations had been established at the conference between the representative of Israel and the delegates of many Asiatic nations. He added that Israel had been named a member of several important conference committees which are scheduled to meet twice annually.

Referring to the conference as an “historic event, “Mr. Sharett said that the major developments at the parley were: the formation geographically of an Asiatic power; and, the laying of the groundwork for a world ideological union of Socialists. He also said he was impressed by the high intellectual standards of the parley, its high socialistic thoughts and its anti-Communist feelings.
