Israel’s High Court rejected a petition against the appointment of Rabbi Yona Metzger as Ashkenazi chief rabbi. The court was ruling Wednesday on a petition filed by a Tel Aviv accountant, who said Metzger was unqualified to serve because he was not authorized to be a religious judge and because of his alleged improprieties.
