Israel’s national airline was guilty of age discrimination when it forced male flight stewards to retire at age 60, Israel’s Supreme Court ruled. An expanded panel of justices rejected El Al’s assertion that the demands of the job justify a retirement at 60. Chief Justice Aharon Barak wrote that a plane flight “is not a beauty contest.”
