Israel’s new ambassador to the United States said any U.S. security package that would accompany a peace deal between Israel and Syria must carry “a lot of compensation.” Noting that Israel would lose strategic depth if it gives up the Golan Heights, David Ivry also cited the importance of a demilitarized zone and an early-warning system.
